Anyone know any good 1541 emulators for Windows XP. I found a couple diffrent ones at this site www.fairlight.to/tools/pc.htmlSeems like this one is recomended by most people www.64hdd.com/index_en.htmlThe problem with all of the emulators I find is that they run under dos. If there is no such program, anyone knows how to unlock the io ports under Windows XP so that the programs will run in a dos box. Oh, and if you wonder what I need this for, I dont have an old 1541 to connect my 64dtv to, so I should be able to connect it to my PC. /Johan

The closest you'll get on windows is this: www.trikaliotis.net/cbm4win.shtmlBut it's still just for transfers to a drive, it doesn't allow you to use the Windows machine as a hard disk.

I just order the 6 pin DIN plug so I can put commodore disk drives on my C64-DTV. But can any one tell me if it works like this. To plug it in to a commodore 64 then on the C64 type:
LOAD"$",1
I think that my work so that you can load any of the files or run them on a C64. It would be sort of like a little rom disk drive!

Now that I have the serial port on mine I did this on a C64 to the DTV. It could not get a listing of any thing on the DTV. Press play on tape or with jiffyDOS no device present. I will try my FD4000 on it and load a file copy porgram and see if I can save all the files on a HD disk.
