Ok, I've got a working copy of modem wars, but it looks like we will need the manual to handle the copy protection. (or a broken copy)
The program has you identify a graphic (map) from the manual to go into the software.
Guess it's time to crack open "Operation Terminal" and see what I can get working there.

Got operation terminal up and running...
speed is 150 bps
You'll need a way to "alias" a number to an ip address, as OT only accepts 0-9 for dial number. tcpser supports an alias command (-n), so I used that.
I used 1670 option (class 2), and things looked OK, but I need a partner to try this with.
On answer, looks like DTR needs to be low until connect. I have mine set HI all the time, so it immediately connects. I need to change that.

I hope this is not a problem with the 3-wire interface I'm using. It might be time to dig out and finish testing with that new one the guys at COMPsys sent me.
We'll find out tonight.
