I was curious if the Quantumlink disk has some kind of protection where if you register on that machine, then it will only work on that computer and wont want to log in using another c64? Just a question I had in mind. I still cant get it to log in no matter what I try, but BBS to other telnets seems to work like a charm. Hope I can figure it out. Suggestions are welcome. ;D

Should work with any other 64/VICE. Have you tried a fresh disk from the website?

There isn't any copy protection or restrictions, no. Once you've used a disk to login and it has your account name on it you can move it to different computers without a problem. As long as we're on the subject, I would recommend making a back-up copy of your Q-Link disk once you've registered. However, since your problem is logging in, I'm putting cart before the horse.
Jeff has already suggested exactly what I was thinking. Create a new Q-Link disk and try that, maybe yours has a problem. If that doesn't work, download a .d64 image of a Q-Link disk and try connecting with VICE. If that works, you've narrowed the problem down somewhat. You could then copy that disk image to a floppy and trying using it on your actual 64.
I really can't imagine what the problem is, particularly because you're able to connect to telnet boards through your RS-232 interface.

Hey,
Thanks for replying.
I did actually take my disk from VICE that worked back to a real c64 image, but still no luck, and I did change the settings accordingly. I also tried to do a new disk, and yet still no go on my c64...Just stays at the connecting screen and nothing ever changes nor tcpser even budges that a number match has been found....
I am stumped. I can surf telnets no problem, but quantumlink wont budge... Maybe it hates this omnitronics deluxe rs232 interface on the userport?
