I've tried setting up winvice myself, and I also downloaded Jim Brain's Easy Install package and I never get past dialing in.
I enter "ATDT1" but never get a connected statement. If I hit return a couple times I start getting "terminal=" prompts it gives me that prompt after anything I type.
Has anyone else seen this, did I miss something?
Thanks, Ed
PS. And if I hit F1 it says wait for network connection and stalls out there.

Ok my first question is, did you set up the RS232 setting in VICE? There is a good example at www.petscii.com/qlink/. HOWEVER that IP address is out of date the current one is 66.135.38.238:5190. Input that and you should be off and running. No need to type in any commands except for the phone number when you first sign up (although it is not really dilaing out but Q needs something there). After you do the setup part and get to the press F1 that is all you do. Just press it. You should see dashes go across the screen as it connects. Should only take a few seconds. Anyway follow the instructions as detailed on the site, just make sure you use the new IP addreess and you will be up and running. If you did all of this and it still dont' work, I suggest getting a new fresh (unused) disk and try that. Perhaps the .d64 image was damaged some how. -Game

Actually I figured it out, I never get the "CONNECTED AT 1200" or whatever, put I press F1 and the dashes start going across the screen, and then I have to press F1 again to finish connecting.

If anyone wants to know how to connect to Q-Link to using VICE under OS X or Linux or FreeBSD or whatever you might have that uses the X11 version of VICE, let me know. It's a tad more complicated but it does work.
