Some may not know, but a qlink disk can hold multiple users. If using a multi-user qlink disk, you are asked when logging on, which user you want to log in as for that session.
Qdata is information stored on track 18/sector 15 in an encrypted format. It contains: access/phone number, modem type, dial type, and speed. It also contains the password/validation number and username for each user stored on the disk.
Raymond Day provided me with Qdata from an older qlink disk that had five users on it. When using a copy of it to log into the current qlink, it did prompt for which user to use for logging in. I did not attempt to login in (because Ray may want to use these in the future) with any of these names.
Also, I am not sure if this feature will be implemented on the current qlink (but I don't see why it won't be). If I can recall, this option is in customer service, add additional user....
All of this information is for a program I am writing in C64 basic for viewing, clearing, copying, and (in the future: importing, exporting, and editing) of Qdata.
So, if anybody has a copy of a multi-user qlink disk, could you please let me know. If not, I will have to move forward with only the data Raymond Day provided.
Also, does anybody know what the maximum number of users the qlink disk could hold?
Sincerely,
Jeffery S. Stone jefferystone@yahoo.com
P.S. I will post a beta version of this program on this forum soon.

I think the max names are 5.
But that 18/15 data I sent you. I know that at one time I got a 6th name. But it must of been a error. "6P r6t R" was the 6 name. Never put that one in.
It may be good to get it from some other person.
All so on the New Q-Link you can see were you can add a name. But it just come back with some thing like it's not ready yet.

Yes, I saw the same thing on my original disk when I logged on. I had 5 names available. I logged on and just to let you know, if you use the disk to log on it will overwrite those names and they will not be there the next time you use it. At least, it does now. I am quessing that once Q-Link is set up to use more than one user name that should not be a problem. DV

It just over wrights your 1st name. The other 4 are still there. I know because I can load Q-Link and before it connects use Super Snap Shots monitor and look at $1200. It decodes track 18 sector 15 there. There you can see the other names. On the back of the Q-Link disk that Leonette gave me to use up the reset of her Q-Link + time because she just did not want to do Q-Link any more. This was maybe 3 month before Q-Link ended. I mosly used her name WiggleWorm because she hardly used that one. I copied that back side. On the Q-Link disk it is only labled by Leonette this: "*Katy* Q-Link + Macros *Q-Newer" The Q-Newer is on the back side. The title on the disk at 18/0 is messed up some with $20 not $A0 to fill up the space and a $12 for the end of line. You can edit that on the disk to look right. But it still list all the files. So I guess she got this out of a old back up 1! to 4! file zip. That could restore a hole 1541 disk sort of like the D64 image. That back side of the disk, I copied it to a D64 and zipped it up, and put at: rayday.no-ip.com/internet/Commodore/mywebpages.comcast.net-raymondday/q-link/Q-NEWER.zipOnly 17 KB. I am not sure what all the programs do yet. I know one will copy a disk. The other will save track 18 sector 15 out to a seq file. Then you can save a number 2 of the same and then compair them both. I think you can save it back to you Q-Link disk too. Don't do this if your disk is valadated. Because it changes and that has to match what is on the server when you log in. Does any one know how to use Macros? I guess they were added to this Q-Link disk. I thought that was only in Super Q. But it says "+ Macros" right on this disk. It's not a Super Q disk. I think I do remember Leonette telling me she got that and how good it was to just press some keys to like paste the same type text that a QDJ would type over and over. But I don't know what keys to press to do it. I guess have to copy some 1st then can paste them. Any info. Any place on that?
