Ron (at COMPSys) send this in regard to our need for more signals passed on the BBS end interface. I don't have any DSR/DTR line boards. However, I do have the AD233BK which includes the CTS/RTS lines. It could be redesigned altered to include the DSR/DTR lines. I'm assuming that the DSR/DTR lines are to be conditioned for TTL levels via the RS232 chip.
Since most PC's have sufficient voltage on the DSR/DTR lines, I designed the AD232SP board (as seen on the website) which takes that voltage and passes it thru an LM78L05 regulator to power the RS232 chip.

Just got this from Ron at COMPSys! Jeff, The AD233BK (the AD233 series use the Max233 whereas the AD232 series use the Max232 or Max3232-3v ) assembled would be $25.You had indicated that you plan on using the DSR/DTR but the AD233BK provides use of the CTS/RTS lines which are conditioned via the second transceiver in the RS232 chip.
I was going to add the CTS/RTS pins to the AD232DB but ran out of room on the pcb which fits in the DB9 shell. Instead, I think I will modify the AD232SP, by removing the on-board power supply stuff and adding lines for CTS/RTS or DTR/DSR (user selectable via jumpers). It would be cheaper than the AD233BK (I'm guessing $15 kit / $20 assembled)

Me wants! Ask him if he could sell one with the commodore connector already hooked up. That'd save quite a few dollars from buying them seperatley from digikey -- as shipping is quite expensive when purchasing items < $10.

I'll buy one of these if I can get my silly computers to talk to each other!

I just got the NEW interface that does CTS and DTR from the guys at Comp! Very Cool! I'm looking forward in trying it out as soon as I finish moving my business into it's new office!
