Ok I'm getting major DT's to get back onto Q-Link! It's been down for a long time - I'm hoping that perhaps it will be reopened soon - perhaps in November for the 25th anniversary? Does anyone know the current status of the project? I'm hoping it's not gone for good... Chuck S.

I hope it will return. I am still interested in seeing it up and working.

Seems to be working now, there are people from Q-Link Reloaded on the #c64friends IRC channel.

Is 184.106.222.254 for the Host Name q-link.swrap.org It is different from the one we had been using so Im guessing the server has moved and is alive?

I have not got on Q-Link Reloaded for a wile not. Because I moved my Linux server to the same PC I am running Windows 7 on. Using VirualBox.
It's hard to set it up but when it set up it works good. It was hard to set up RS-232 all so and I just got that part working today.
But it would not get on Q-Link. I got on here and used the q-link.swrap.org:5190 But when I got on it ask for all my info. like I never was on there.
I went to the message board and all the old messages are gone! Over 2 years worth. I guess this is a copy of Jim's Q-Link Reloaded and it my be a older copy.
What happened to Jim's Q-Link Reloaded?
My /ect/rc.local looks like this now:
#!/bin/sh -e # # rc.local # # This script is executed at the end of each multiuser runlevel. # Make sure that the script will "exit 0" on success or any other # value on error. # # In order to enable or disable this script just change the execution # bits. # # By default this script does nothing.
# With Ubuntu can install tcpser with "apt-get install tcpser" then just have to type tcpser to run it.
# Got it working with VirtualBox now. 2 RS-232 to USB addaptors on /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1 Today on 10/19/2010
tcpser -d /dev/ttyUSB1 -s 1200 -i"e0&k0&c0" -n"5551212"=q-link.swrap.org:5190&
# tcpser -d /dev/ttyS0 -s 1200 -i"e0&k0&c0" -n"5551212"=66.135.39.36:5190& # tcpser -d /dev/ttyS1 -p 6401 -s 1200 -i"e0&k0&c0" -n"5551212"=66.135.39.36:5190& tcpser -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -p 6402 -s 1200 -i"e0&k0&c0" -n"5551212"=q-link.swrap.org:5190& # On Oct-11-2006 a domain squatter got quantum-link.org from then just the IP of 66.135.38.238 port 5190 works. # I think it was on Jan-27-2007 that they got a new domain name "go.quantumlink.tk" says it's registered for 2 years. I am going to change the IP "66.135.38.238" to the new domain name. # On April 13, 2007 they moved the server and go.quantumlink.tk did no carrier. So I Changed it to the IP Jim said to on 4/3/07 "Try 66.135.39.36 as the IP." # On January 1, 2008 I test the go.quantumlink.tk and it works! # On January 17, 2008. Got caller ID working with mgetty. But then tcpser stopped working on a reboot. Going to set this tcpser to start before mgetting if I can. # On October 19, 2010. Because it took me so long to get on Q-Link Reloaded. They started a new one at q-link.swrap.org:5190 looks like it's a copy of Jim's Q-Link code and not all is working and have to get on as a new name 1ST time!

I e-mailed Jim Brain asking him about this.
The server Q-Link Reloaded was running on hard drive went bad. They reloaded the server with a new load and found out there backups were corrupt.
They my of sent the drive to drive savers.
They could of used spin rite but guess did not know.
It was at ltshosting.net Jim Brain has a older backup. Because of ltshosting.net is down Jim my run Q-Link on some other server.
It my take some time, because Jim is not done moving yet.
Jim Mazurek is running the un-official Q-Link Reloaded at q-link.swrap.org:5190 and that my be why things lock up on it now. Or just don't work like they use to.
