If you want to see something impressive, check out Bo Zimmerman's collection. Yikes.

haha... Let me rephrase then. They should let me come play with their computers a few hours haha... I imagine that they probably aren't all that exciting, unless perhaps you were to have the time and motivation to learn to program the C65 and try to develops software on it. But other than that, I guess you're probably just running C64 or C128 software on a computer that looks strange.
What might be cool though is if the owners of the C65s (the ones that are mostl functional at least) were to work with the VICE developers to get a working C65 emulator. The machine may never have been available to the public in physical form, but maybe if there were a freely downloadable emulator as part of VICE, some adventurous hobbyists might be able to develop some software for virtual C65s.
Yeah. Zimmerman's collection I think qualifies as geek porn.

Work is under way, only not by the VICE team but by the MESS people. See the chart on their main page under "C64/C64DX". Pretty much everything is known and understood about the machine. It's just a matter of time. It is the C64DTV and Hummer that are without an emulator, WIP or otherwise.

Strange, I was under the impression that a partially working C65 emulator had already been released by the MESS people. Maybe it wasn't working well enough to qualify as a "yes" in that chart. In addition to the C64DTV emulator, a SuperCPU emulator is probably the other one most requested. I'd love one; it would make development for it quite a bit easier.

Sorry.. I just don't believe anyone would want to devote time to writing software for a machine that never made it to production, especially when they don't even own the machine. It is kind of the same situation with the C-One... Not seeing a lot of software developed for it for the same reason, very small user-base.
The C64-DTV is a different story.. If there were a functioning emulator for it, I think we'd see a lot more people writing software. mostly because it would make it a lot easier to develop for. I already asked the VICE team about it many months ago and they said there were no plans for any such thing to be added.

Now Robin.. I know you left something out of your list that is definatly worth bragging about. Maybe a certain little device you showed me at ECCC last year that there only exists maybe 3 or 4 in the world? Ring any bells here?
Secondly.. Why on EARTH do you have so many C64's? Sounds like you have about 40 of them. Do you rent a storage facility or warehouse to keep all of that in? My God.. I think you collection is the biggest I've seen from a perspective of sheer volume. The good thing is, whenever my wife complains about the volume of old computers I have, I can always point to things like this to show her how small my collection really is. :-)

Maybe a certain little device you showed me at ECCC last year that there only exists maybe 3 or 4 in the world? Ring any bells here? Ah, the DTV v1 proto, and v2/3/Hummer proto? I guess those are brag-worthy, but they didn't seem to belong on the list Well, like they say, you can't have too much of a good thing! I don't know, mostly during the 90s I just stumbled across C64s everywhere I went, cheap, and just couldn't let them end up in the garbage or whatever. I've lended out quite a few over the years, but they eventually come back. Also, just about all my friends gave me their systems when they were getting rid of stuff to move away for school/work/whatever. No, no storage facility, but a corner of my geek room has a 8' x 7' nook where I've put two heavy duty shelving units, 8'x2' each, so that adds up to a lot of storage, and the majority of my stuff fits in there. This summer, after my latest game project is complete, I'm going to finish my geek room improvements and get some photos taken. Yes, even Jim Brain has used my collection to divert his wife's attention away from his
