Okay.. if I understand the DTV correctly, the whole thing is a giant programmable logic chip, right? Since many of us want to tinker with this thing, but the blobs of epoxy and small wires prevent it. Also since they aren't making the chip available stand-alone, I was wondering, would it not be possible for somebody to "copy" the chip to a regular FPGA chip that could go in a socket and then onto a proto-board? I don't know too much about how those chips are programmed so it may be a dumb question. --DavidM

Okay.. if I understand the DTV correctly, the whole thing is a giant programmable logic chip, right? No, that'd be the C1. The DTV has a custom ASIC that cannot be reprogrammed.
