I hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere.. but I was trying to write some programs today and when I would run them, my cursor keys on the keyboard would no longer operate correctly. Eventually I discovered the problem starts when a BASIC variable is used defined with an equation. For example, these work fine:
A=B A=21 A=PEEK(53280)
But if you use something like this:
A=A+1 A=B+C A=PEEK(53280)+1
Then the cursor keys malfunction. When the malfunction you are only able to use down and right, just like the real cursor keys on the commodore machine. Unfortunatly, holding down shift doesn't help you to move them the other two directions either. Makes it really difficult to edit a basic program. This also affects certain shifted keys like parenthesis and stuff.
The good news is that I found that if you hit the CAPS lock key, the problem seems fixed. Also, you can use the ALT key with the arrow keys and operate the cursor keys sort of like on a real commodore. --DavidM
