That is great.. Unfortunatly, the only hummer I had modded for a joystick was dismantled and converted to the LCD unit. However, I have another hummer I'll be modding soon with an external user-port so I should be able to attach a joystick there, and I'm also modding a PAL DTV and it will have an identical user-port connector so I can test joystick games on it just as well.
But, keep up the good work. I'm going to make a section on the main website for this in a few days.

I have converted Spell of Destruction, Also known as Wizardry. It's one of the greats but I have yet to win a game from start to finish! See new link at top of page.

Thanks
Have you cut the ADC lines, or does the userport work OK as is?

I think it's ok to leave them connected, I did cut mine but it was working fine before I did. I think I will bridge the ADC back in so I can still program it if I like. I was a bit hasty to have cut them in the first place.
I.K. & Ms PacMan on my desktop today.
Giana done today before work!
enjoy!

That is great. I may have to accellerate my plans to put the joystick port back on one of my hummer units. If Giana is working, that is all the encouragement I need!

New to the collection, Space Harrier. Mixed reviews from great to plane crud may motivate you to find out for your self.

Space harrier was only good when it the full Motion chair Arcade setup! It was one of the first moving cabinets I think, if not THE first. A home version just didnt have the thrill of being thrown around. Ahh, the memories, I can still hear the music.

I've never played space harrier before. I guess as soon as I'm done building my joystick interface (again) I'll have to try it out. I'm still waiting on some parts to come in before I can get moving on this.

I'm adding a page to the website on this topic. It is incomplete and I can't even finish it tonight because I'm about to leave for the evening. But I'm going to put some diagrams on there showing how to wire up the joystick to the user-port and more explanation. It is a start, though.

I haven't added a link to this from the main website either.. and I won't until I'm further along.

Expertsetup, why not fix them to the DTV at the same time? It should be easy when you have spotted the right address for polling the joystick.
A short wish list:

Just an F.Y.I.
I finally added my joystick port back to one of my hummer units today. I tried Montezuma's revenge and it works (but sounds weird) and seems unusually fast. I also tried Ghosts and Goblins and it seems to be just like playing it on the C64. Giana sisters comes up to the intro screen and plays music, but won't go any further. This may be because I'm using it on a 1581 and it was a D64 image. (does it use a fastloader?)
Anyway.. Great work, expertsetup. I'll try the rest later. You may have single-handedly created something that will bring more users to buy hummer units than any other work!
